First impression: The OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder is sooooooooo much quieter and the motor is waaaaaay smoother than the ultra-noisy (think chainsaw loud, as in wake up the whole house loud) Mr C burr grinder I had before. The OXO also produces a more even grind, and is much easier to clean (no more coffee powder/granules everywhere/all over the counter, yay!). Granted the Oxo costs more, but in this case you do get what you pay for, it's far superior in every way (so far anyways).
Notes on other reviewers: No issue so far with the catcher "popping out" while grinding as a couple reviewers noted (mine pops right in and stays put). I also use a dark roast, in this case Starbucks French Roast (which is VERY oily) and that hasn't clogged it up, yet anyways... knock on wood (always had that clogging and grinds EVERYWHERE problem with the Mr C!.
When you're not using it: The dispenser is nicely tinted and pretty airtight, noting I prefer not to store more than enough beans for a couple pots in the dispenser, but keep the beans in the bag or airtight stainless container. Also looks great and takes up less counter space that most other burr grinders. Thanks OXO for a quiet and smooth motor and FAR less mess! Well worth the extra $ over the cheap grinders.
I read tons of Amazon reviews before purchasing this (including all the 1-star reviews), and the OXO was also very well reviewed by CR also (scoring better than many burr grinders that are much more expensive). I think you're hard-pressed to find any products with any less than 3-4% of 1-star reviews, the OXO has a very high % of 4-5 star reviews, and so far 5-stars for the one I got!

My old pour over just Barely fit the top and was more trouble then it was worth, hence the real reason I bought this combo. How long does the stainless steel cup hold the heat as of yet I have no idea. It is a very hot summer in AZ. Not a good place to test. I really didn't want to shell out another $200+ for a grinder but as a gen 1 Virtuoso owner with a few complaints, I had to give this a try. Everything I HATED about the gen 1 has been fixed in the Virtuoso+!
1) Wind up timer yielding imprecise grind sessions...gone. V+ now has a digital timer easily adjusted to dial in precise and repeatable grinds.

Nice design and easily adjustable. I needed a supplemental grinder for those times I wanted Decaf.
